Product Updates - March 2025
We’re back with more product updates.
We redesigned product pages, removed unused features, and gave you better control over Google Maps data scraping.
Ready to see what’s new? Let’s dive in.
Update #1 – Our Product Pages Got a Makeover (and They Look Good)

Our old product pages were… let’s say “information-rich.”
Okay fine, they were cluttered, chaotic, and basically a wall of text. Reading them felt like homework.
So we tore them down and rebuilt them from scratch.
Now every product page is clear, visual, and focused on what actually matters to you:

- What the product does (without the buzzword salad)
- How it works, with visuals and examples
- Key features, straight to the point
- Real reviews, because we’re not shy
It’s everything you need to decide if a product’s right for you—in seconds. No more deciphering 800-word paragraphs.
No more wondering if you're missing something important because your eyes glazed over.
You can finally see what you're getting, before you use it.
Update #2 – Goodbye Dropcontact 👋

Once upon a time, we offered Dropcontact as a backup for email enrichment—just in case Lobstr’s own discovery wasn’t hitting the mark.

Spoiler: it was.
In fact, we’ve been obsessively improving our own email discovery system, and now it’s so accurate, Dropcontact has basically been sitting in the corner doing nothing.
Literally. Usage was nearly zero.
We kept Dropcontact around just in case. But “just in case” never came.
So we made the obvious call: Dropcontact is no longer supported.
We’re letting it go and moving on—with better, sharper, and fully in-house email discovery.

No more toggle between Lobstr and Dropcontact (you weren’t using it anyway).
100% of email enrichment now runs on our engine, which is faster, more accurate, and doesn’t outsource your data.
It’s the end of an era. But let’s be honest… It was a pretty boring era.
Update #3 – Google Maps Scraper Now Has Filters
We noticed a problem, Google Maps scrapes sometimes returned results that weren’t quite right.

You’d search for restaurants in Paris, and get something from a nearby suburb. Or search for gyms, and get tire shops. Not helpful.
So we fixed that by adding two simple but powerful filters:
- Location match
- Category match

Location match filter checks if the business’s location matches your input location.
This helps avoid scraping results from nearby cities or regions you didn’t ask for.
Category match filter checks if the business falls into the same category you searched for.
So if you're looking for cafés, you won’t get car washes or accounting firms.
These filters help clean up your results and save you time by removing irrelevant data.
