I Tested and Compared the Best Email Finder APIs of 2025
I was looking for a solid email finder APIβsomething affordable, scalable, and actually built for devs.
So I turned to Google.
And, surprise surprise⦠it threw a million options at me.

But most of the listicles I found felt more like ads. No real pros and cons, no honest takes.
Also most of them were no-code SaaS platforms that happen to offer an API.
So I did my own diggingβtested a lot of APIs from Google results, Reddit threads, and dev communities.
This article sums up what I found: the good, the bad, and which email finder APIs are actually worth using.
API | Overall Rating | Cost/1k emails | Speed/1k requests (minutes) | Emails found/1k leads | Best for | Drawbacks |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Anymail finder | 4.8 | $49 | 155 | 476 | SMEs looking for scalable but affordable email enrichment API | Too slow |
Findymail | 4.7 | $49 | 114 | 492 | SMEs looking for scalable email finder API with easy email sequencer integrations | Too slow |
Apollo | 4.5 | $11.8 | 8 | 430 | Medium-sized businesses and enterprises looking for programmatic sales prospecting | Outdated data |
Hunter | 4.2 | $50 | 30 | 281 | Medium sized businesses looking for scalable prospecting and email enrichment API | Less emails, expensive verification |
Skrapp | 3.9 | $49 | 20 | 373 | LinkedIn email collection | Less accurate |
Snov | 3.6 | $39 | 18 | 180 | LinkedIn email collection and multi-channel outreach | Rate limit and less emails |
People Data Labs | 3.3 | $280 | 21 | 450 | Scalable email enrichment | Very expensive |
Icypeas | 3.0 | $16.5 | 22 | 265 | Most affordable email collection | Questionable accuracy |
Dropcontact | 2.7 | $65 | 149 | 383 | Scalable email enrichment | Expensive and very slow |
But what was my testing criteria?
How to choose the best email finder API?
Here's the thingβmost articles I found online were just fluff.
They threw around fancy buzzwords and repeated the same stuff you'd see on each tool's own website. Not helpful when you actually need to build something.

So I hit up Reddit, dev forums, and other nerdy corners of the internet to find what really matters when picking an email finder API. Based on all that, I came up with a 6 factors checklist to evaluate each email finder API:

- Accuracy β Does it return valid and verified emails?
- Quantity β How many leads came back with enriched emails?
- Affordability β Is it reasonably priced, or do I need VC funding just to test it?
- Speed β How fast do the results show up?
- Scalability β Can it handle bulk enrichment or large workflows?
- Accessibility β How easy is it to integrate the API into my workflow?

I have rated each API based on factors listed above, so my overall rating might be different from user rating.
I used a list of 1000 random leads and tested each tool on the same dataset.
To get accuracy right, I compared each tool's valid emails, bounce rates, and user reviews. I also checked the bounce rate guarantees and refund options.
To verify the quantity, I checked how many emails were collected against those 1000 leads.
To check affordability, I calculated the total cost of 1000 emails.
To confirm speed, I made sure my script notes down the total API response time of 1000 requests and response time per request.
For scalability, I checked rate limits, max number of credits/requests per month, and options like pay-as-you-go and enterprise plans.
For accessibility checking, I considered factors like how well-structured the documentation is, is the API sync or async, and overall how easy it is to integrate in other workflows.
Based on these factors, here are the top 9 email finder APIs.
Best email finder APIs of 2025

1. Anymail finder
Overall rating: 4.8 User Rating: 4.4 (Capterra, 26 reviews)
Anymail finder is a UK-based email email finder service that offers email enrichment and email validation services. It offers a developer-friendly email finder API too.

Features
- Search emails by name, domain/company name, and job role
- Real-time email verification
- Offers a Chrome extension for quick email lookups
- Offers LinkedIn email finder
- Zapier and Make integrations built-in
Anymail finder claims 97% accuracy, which means as per their claim you'll see only 3% bounce rate on their verified emails.

The platform performs a variety of deliverability checks including spam trap detection and catch-all checks.
The best thing is, they don't hold back any data. You get both fully verified and partially verified (risky, catch-all) emails but only pay for the fully verified ones.

As for enrichment, it did a decent job. Out of the 1,000 leads I tested, it returned 476 emails.
The downside? Speed. It took around 155 minutes (a little over 2.5 hours) to process the datasetβone of the slowest in my testing.
That said, the API is super dev-friendly. For single lookups, it's synchronousβyou send a request and get the result instantly.

But for bulk lookups, it works asynchronously. That means you first upload your data, and then make another request later to fetch the results once the processing is done.
A bit of extra handling, but that's standard for most bulk endpoints.
Pricing and scalability

- Cost me $49 for 1000 emails
- At scale, it costs $10 per 1000 emails (up to 50k emails per month)
The best thing about Anymail finder is that it only charges for verified emails. Risky emails and duplicate searches are free.
There are no rate limits on API. Plus you can get a custom quote for higher volumes.
If you have an email list to clean, Anymail finder's email verifier API costs $9.8 per 1000 email verifications.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Affordable | Very slow |
Scalable | |
Well-structured documentation | |
Good enrichment rate | |
Easy to integrate |
Best for
If you're looking for a scalable and affordable email finder solution to integrate to your workflows or automation apps, Anymail finder is a great choice.
It's an API-focused service, made for developers and the pricing plans are suitable for small and medium sized businesses.
2. Findymail
Overall rating: 4.7 Rating: 4.9 (G2, 54 reviews)
Findymail is a French B2B email and phone data enrichment company. It offers a good no-code app plus a really well-documented email finder API.

Features
- Email finder and email verifier
- CRM data enrichment and cleaning
- Multiple 3rd party integrations offered
- Email finder Chrome extension
- Apollo and Sales Navigator leads export
Starting with accuracy, Findymail claims less than 5% bounce rate. The claim is backed by the quality of emails they provide and user reviews also praise their accuracy.

Unlike other email validation tools, it doesn't give you risky or invalid catch-all emails. You only get safe and verified emails.
Along with data quality, the data quantity is also amazing. I was able to collect 492 emails from my 1000 leads dataset.
But Findymail is also pretty slow. The response time was 114 minutes (approx 2 hours).
The documentation is simple and clean. Though it's not as well documented as Anymail finder. Findymail's API is synchronous and pretty easy to integrate.

But there's no bulk enrichment or batch processing support.
Pricing and scalability

- Costs $49 per 1000 verified emails
- At scale, the cost goes down to $8.4 per 1000 emails (100k emails)
Duplicate searches are free. It doesn't show risky emails so you don't pay for them either. You can get a custom quotation for higher volumes.
There's a rate limit of 300 concurrent requests. No daily or hourly rate limits.
For email list cleaning (emails collected from other sources), it costs $49 per 1000 verifications.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Accurate | Slow |
Clean documentation | Won't display partially verified emails |
Good email enrichment rate | |
Integrates with cold emailing tools | |
CRM enrichment |
Best for
Findymail is a great solution if you're looking for an affordable email finder API to integrate with your cold outreach workflow.
Though it offers a no-code dashboard, it's basically an API-focused service and can be used as an Anymail finder alternative.
3. Apollo
Overall rating: 4.5 Rating: 4.9 (G2, 8,482 reviews)
Apollo is a B2B sales platform that offers a variety of sales solutions like GTM, prospecting, data enrichment, and much more.

Features
- B2B data enrichment
- Waterfall enrichment
- Huge leads database
- GTM workflow automation
- Chrome extension and lots of integrations
Apollo is not as accurate as the top 2 APIs in my list. The platform claims 91% email accuracy.
Plus I did find some users complaining about outdated data.

But in terms of quantity, Apollo is pretty impressive. It got me 430 emails out of my 1000 leads dataset.
Apollo is the fastest email finder of my list. I was able to process all 1000 leads in just 8 minutes.
Just like speed, it excels in API documentation too. Apollo's enrichment API is really well-documented and detailed.

It offers a bulk enrichment route too which allows you to enrich up to 10 leads per request. Both single and bulk API routes are synchronous.
Pricing and scalability

- Starts at $11.8 per 1000 emails
- At scale, price goes down to $9.9 per 1000 emails
But it's not scalable due to rate limits. There's a rate cap of 4000 requests per day, which makes it unscalable.

Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Affordable | Bad API rate limit |
Fast | Less accurate |
Complete data enrichment | |
Huge leads database | |
Waterfall enrichment |
Best for
If you're looking for an all-in-one data enrichment API backed by a big leads database, Apollo is a good choice.
It gives you all the data you need for sales prospecting. You get 30+ data points including verified emails (personal and work) and phone numbers.
But due to its rate cap, you'll struggle scaling your workflow with its API.
4. Hunter
Overall rating: 4.2 Rating: 4.6 (Capterra, 683 reviews)
Hunter.io is an all-in-one email outreach platform for prospecting, email enrichment and cold emailing. It offers a really popular email finder API.

Features
- Prospect discovery with intent signals
- Find finder and verifier
- Cold email sending tool
- Multiple 3rd-party Integrations
- Browser extensions and Google Sheets Addon
Hunter claims 95% deliverability and most of the user reviews also say it's quite accurate.

Plus it shows a confidence score in verification status to highlight the likeliness of an email landing your prospect's inbox.
But the enrichment rate was not impressive in my testing. It gave me only 281 valid emails.
Hunter is quite better in terms of speed compared to my top 2 contendars. It processed all the leads in less than 30 minutes.
What's really impressive is Hunter's API documentation. It's clean, simple, and well-structured.

The API is synchronous and there's no bulk processing route.
Pricing and scalability

- Costs $50 per 1000 emails
- At scale, the prices goes down to $6.9 per 1000 emails
Hunter's emails are verified in real-time without extra cost. If you want to clean your own email list, it'll cost you $11 per 1000 verifications.
Though Hunter offers up to 1M search credits, it comes with an API rate limit of 500 requests per minute.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Accurate | Bad rate limit |
Fast | Low enrichment percentage |
Affordable at scale | Expensive email verification |
Prospecting and emailing tools | |
Well-structured API |
Best for
Hunter's API is pretty scalable and offers both prospecting and enrichment routes. You can consider it for cold emailing automation.
What makes it #4 is its bad enrichment percentage and rate limits. Plus the fact that it's not suitable for small businesses due to expensive entry level pricing.
5. Skrapp
Overall rating: 3.9 Rating: 4.1 (G2, 139 reviews)
Skrapp.io is a Singapore based B2B lead generation company. It offers a LinkedIn-focused prospecting and email enrichment API.

Features
- Email finder and verifier
- Find emails from both LinkedIn and Sales Navigator
- Own leads database
- CRM integrations
Starting with accuracy, Skrapp claims 92% accuracy but I found this claim a bit exaggerated because I found multiple user reviews complaining about accuracy.

Email enrichment percentage was better than Hunter in my tests. It collected 373 verified email addresses from my Sheet.
In terms of speed, it outperformed Hunter. The response time for processing 1000 rows was around 20 minutes.
The API documentation is too simplified. Won't tell you much about the technicalities. You'll have to check JSON responses to understand it properly.

It offers both single and bulk email finder API endpoints, synchronously. You can add up to 100 rows per API call.
Pricing and scalability

- Costs $49 per 1000 email searches
- At scale, the pricing can go down to $7 per 1000 emails.
Email list cleaning will cost you $49 per 1000 verifications. Duplicate searches and verifications are free.
I didn't find any rate limits, that's why I'm not sure about scalability.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Fast | Less accurate |
Scalable | Vague API documentation |
LinkedIn email collection without Sales Navigator | Low enrichment percentage |
Affordable | |
CRM integrations |
Best for
It can be used as an alternative to Hunter, since it's faster and offers more emails than Hunter. Pricing plans are suitable for SMBs.
The reason I ranked it below Hunter is its accuracy and uncertainty about API rate limits.
6. Snov
Overall rating: 3.6 Rating: 4.6 (G2, 446 reviews)
Snov.io is a US based sales automation SaaS company offering enrichment and prospecting products including email finder API.

Features
- Email finder and verifier
- Multi-channel outreach tools
- Email tracking and deliverability tools
- Sales CRM
- LinkedIn automation
Snov claims 98% accuracy which is a bold claim. Though some users do complain about deliverability and data quality.

However most of the user reviews were positive and I didn't find a lot of deliverability complaints. So it's safe to assume that Snov is a pretty accurate product.
But this accuracy impacts the enrichment ratio. During my testing, Snov only collected 180 emails, which is just 18%.
Interestingly, Snov is the 2nd fastest email finder in my list. It processed the entire dataset in less than 18 minutes.
The biggest turn off after enrichment rate was its API. The documentation is pretty vague and ill-structured.

No descriptions, just sample code and response examples that too in Python and PHP only.
It doesn't offer a bulk search endpoint.
Pricing and scalability

- $39 per 1000 emails
- At scale, the prices decreases to $7.4 per 1000 emails
There's a hard limit of 200 requests per hour which makes the API not scalable at all.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Affordable | Very low enrichment percentage |
Accurate | Bad API rate limit |
Fast | Vague documentation |
LinkedIn automation support | |
Multi-channel outreach |
Best for
Though this list is API-focused and Snov's API is not as good as others, it's still a good contender due to affordability and accuracy.
It's best suited for small businesses looking for an affordable solution and offers complimentary LinkedIn automation too.
Not suitable for heavy requirements due to the hard rate limit.
7. People Data Labs
Overall rating: 3.3 Rating: 4.6 (G2, 16 reviews)
People Data Labs is a US based data company that offers people and company datasets and a developer-friendly API for data enrichment.

Features
- Huge leads database
- Multiple enrichment APIs
- Data licensing
- CRM and workflow automation tool integrations
The platform doesn't claim anything about deliverability, they do claim their data is verified from multiple sources and emails are validated at the time of collection.
But there's no real-time email validation and I found out that some data was outdated. User reviews also highlighted this concern.

The data enrichment rate is pretty impressive. I got 450 professional email addresses from the API, which is 3rd highest in this list.
The speed was average. It processed 1000 rows in 21 minutes.
The winning factor of People Data Labs is their API. The API documentation is clean and very well-structured.

But the API is asynchronous. It does include a bulk enrichment route which allows you to enrich up to 100 persons per request.
Pricing and scalability

- $280 per 1000 emails
- At scale, the cost drops to $250 per 1000 emails
There's a hard rate limit of 500 requests per minute.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Well-documented API | Expensive |
Good enrichment percentage | Hard rate limit |
Workflow automation tools integration | Outdated data sometimes |
Multiple enrichment APIs | No real-time email validation |
Fast |
Best for
It's best suited for large enterprises who can afford a tool this expensive. The rate limit can be increased if you pay more.
For small and medium enterprises, it's not a feasible option.
8. Icypeas
Overall rating: 3.0 Rating: NA (Not listed on any trusted review site)
Icypeas is a France-based company, focused entirely on email enrichment services. It offers a no-code platform, add-ons for other platforms, and an API too.

Features
- Email finder, verifier, and domain search functionality
- Google Sheets add-on
- Make, Zapier, and n8n templates
- Clay and other enrichment tools integration
Icypeas claims less than 2.5% bounce rate due to its triple verification system. I didn't find any reviews on trusted platforms to verify these claims.
But the confidence levels are ridiculous. Even emails that might give you 35% bounce rate are tagged as verified.

Data enrichment rate is average. It collected 265 verified emails. Most of them were level 3 verified, which further makes the tool's accuracy doubtful.
The speed is pretty average. It processed my 1000 rows dataset in 21.5 minutes.
API documentation is clean and simple. It doesn't have a lot of explanation or code examples but you can easily understand how it works by skimming through the docs.

There is a bulk enrichment route too with up to 5000 rows per call.
The biggest turn off for me was the asynchronous API. Both endpoints are async.
Pricing and scalability

- $16.5 per 1000 emails
- At scale, it comes down to $2.75 per 1000 emails
There's a hard rate limit. You get 10 requests per second on single email discovery and 1 request per second on bulk search.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Affordable | Questionable data accuracy |
Integration with automation tools | Async API |
Clay integration | Hard rate limit |
Google Sheets add-on | Low enrichment ratio |
Low bounce rate |
Best for
Icypeas is the most affordable API in the list, which makes it a good choice for small businesses.
Though I'm skeptical about accuracy, if you're just getting started, it can be a cost-effective option.
9. Dropcontact
Overall rating: 2.7 Rating: 4.7 (G2, 43 reviews)
Dropcontact is a France-based data enrichment company offering a flagship B2B email enrichment API.

Features
- Email finder and verifier
- CRM and workflow automation integrations
- Google Sheets enrichment add-on
- Company change alerts
Dropcontact claims 98% valid email accuracy and 85% catch-all email accuracy. Though these are some bold claims, it does verify the emails in real-time.
I didn't find any complaints about accuracy in user reviews either.
Enrichment rate is just okay. I found around 383 emails using Dropcontact, which ranks it #5 in terms of enrichment percentage.
My biggest disappointment was its speed. It's the 2nd slowest API in my list as it was able to process 1000 rows in 149 minutes (approx 2.5 hours).
Not just speed, the API itself was also a bit disappointing. API documentation is pretty basic and not well-structured.

I didn't find any bulk enrichment endpoint and the API is asynchronous.
Pricing and scalability

- $65 per 1000 emails
- At scale, it goes down to $16.5 per 1000 emails
There's a hard limit of 60 requests per second on API.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Accurate | Slow |
Scalable | Async API |
Good enrichment rate | Vague documentation |
All necessary integrations | Expensive |
API-focused | Hard rate limit |
Best for
Expensive entry-level pricing makes it unsuitable for small and medium-sized companies. At scale, it gets cheaper, so it is a good choice for enterprises.
That's it.
But what's the best email finder API for me?
Which email finder API is best for me?
Overall best APIs in my opinion are Anymail Finder and Findymail. They're accurate, offer real-time verification without extra cost, and are pretty scalable.
Plus there's no hard rate limit. You just have to do some workaround to get faster API responses.
If you need the fastest API to find verified emails, Apollo is the absolute winner. It's literally the fastest one.
The cheapest email finder API would be Icypeas. From entry-level to highest pricing tiers, it offers the cheapest cost per 1000 emails.
